2017 Chevrolet Cruze near Cleveland, OH
Chevy added a hatchback to the lineup of Cruze models for 2017. They also included a package called Teen Driver mode. Other than these updates, the Cruze remains the same as 2016.
There are 4 trim levels: The base level L and the next level LS come with 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlights. The LS has an Exterior Appearance package with different wheels, along with bumpers the same color as the vehicle body and gray trim. The LT has LED daytime running lights and rear privacy glass along with roof side rails. The highest level trim is the Premier, which has 18-inch alloy wheels and fog lights along with a different exterior trim. Choose the Midnight package on the LT for black paint and black exterior trim.
The Equinox's standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 182 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade the LT and Premier to a 3.6-liter V-6 that delivers 301 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. Both come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. You can upgrade to all-wheel drive on all trims except the L. Chevrolet estimates that the four-cylinder Equinox will get 23 miles per gallon combined, while the V-6 engine will get just a few miles less; but with the larger engine you’ll get towing up to 3,500 pounds.
There is plenty of legroom in the back, and the rear seats slide back even further if needed. The seats are made of quality materials, and you can upgrade to leather with the LT and Premier. The base level L has a 7-inch touch screen display with an interface that looks like a smartphone. Choose MyLink for Bluetooth streaming and compatibility with many apps. There’s 31.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats that feature a 60/40 split. With seats folded down, the cargo space is 63.7 cubic feet.
All Equinox models come with anti-lock disc brakes as well as traction and stability control. There are front seat, side-impact, and side curtain air bags. A rearview camera and the OnStar communication system are also standard. The LT and Premier trims offer the option for rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring. The Premier takes it one step further with optional forward collision alert and lane departure warning.
